Oliver Calls "Turbo Bullshit" on Trump's Claim Comey Wasn't Investigating Him

Which is why Last Week Tonight host John Oliver appealed to all 534 members of Congress.

Donald Trump (l.) said he planned on firing James Comey (r.) regardless of what his staff recommended.

The group's agreements aren't legally binding; instead, they represent the leaders' political commitment to follow through. Greece's creditors, including the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund, will be in Bari .

John Oliver has lobbed a giant, comedic grenade at New Zealand - or, as he prefers to call it, "wallaby f-- island". Oliver destroys the White House in this five minute rant and you have to wonder how Donald Trump is still in office right now. Trump posted last week, after sharing his version of his conversations with Comey in an NBC interview with Lester Holt.

Sunday night, that meant taking some time to talk about Trump's abrupt firing of former FBI director James Comey, which the president later admitted was, in part, due to his ongoing investigation over the administration's potential ties with Russian Federation. Though after showing House Speaker Paul Ryan shamelessly deflect questions on Comey's firing, Oliver's not getting his hopes up. Oliver mentions how Trump "is so desperate to appear dominant, he will rush to take the credit for anything, no matter how bad it is". If you said he fired Comey because he's investigating Russian Federation, I'd believe you. "Because I don't. I don't remember what they felt like".

"You really wanna do this Bill?" he asked on Sunday night. One, can he really be this stupid?; two, does he really think we, as a country, are this stupid?; and three, are we, as a country, this stupid? "And it's entirely possible the answers to all three questions are yes". That means, according to the host, backing the investigations into the Trump campaign and Russian Federation or pressing for a special counsel to investigate the matter. "The point is, the founding fathers created a system of checks and balances to limit the power of the president, but it only works if someone f*cking checks and balances - and if you don't, it's no longer on Trump; it's on you". "They do have options", Oliver said before going over things Congress could do to address the situation. It's on you. Because when you've got the presidential equivalent of a 5-year-old s---ting on the salad bar of a Ruby Tuesday's, at some point, you stop blaming the 5-year-old and you start blaming the people who are not stopping him.

Melissa McCarthy adds spice (and Spicer) as host of 'SNL'
For this skit, McCarthy can be seen, of course, in the bushes, as Sarah Huckabee Sanders fills his role as Press Secretary. Baldwin's Trump replies, "Only since you started working here".
