Man Detained in Melbourne After Trying to Enter Malaysia Airlines Cockpit

A Malaysia Airlines plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport less than 30 minutes into a flight after a Canberra man tried to enter the cockpit, claiming to have explosives.

"The aircraft is now on a remote bay and waiting for security assistance to arrive at the aircraft", the statement said.

According to latest reports, all passengers onboard MH 128 are safe.

The statement gave no other details of the incident.
