A day before former FBI Director James Comey's high-profile hearing, senators plan to question senior intelligence officials about Trump's controversies and the Russian Federation investigation at a hearing that is supposed to be about re-authorizing a key section of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

According to anonymous associates close to Coats, Coats recalled after an intelligence briefing wrapped up with several agencies, President Trump asked everyone to leave but him and CIA Director Mike Pompeo.

Comey is said to have written detailed notes about three conversations he had with Trump, which reportedly document the president's efforts to get the FBI to ease the investigation's focus on former national security advisor Michael Flynn.

"I hope you can your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go", Trump told Comey, according to the memo.

Despite the mounting legal questions now shadowing the White House, Trump has needled Comey publicly.

Two legal experts said Comey would seek to avoid compromising a new inquiry led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller or separate congressional investigations.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the second-ranking official at the Department of Justice who signed a letter recommending Comey's dismissal, will testify, a day ahead of Comey's own hotly anticipated testimony in the investigation of Russian involvement in the 2016 US election. Brian P. Hale, a spokesman for Coates's office, offered a simple non-denial: "Director Coats does not discuss his private conversations with the President".

Netflix's CEO wants more of its original series to fail
The annual budget for Netflix originals is already $6 billion for 2017; the idea that it will grow even more is pretty fantastic . According to Hastings, the increase in recent cancelations is on objective .

The White House denied the report, saying the president never attempted to end any investigation and that the memo was not "a truthful or accurate portrayal of the conversation between the president and Mr. Comey".

Coats is set to testify to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Wednesday, one day before Comey talks to the same panel.

Donald Trump wished his fired Federal Bureau of Investigation director luck ahead of what promises to be dramatic testimony to Congress on Thursday that could spell more bad news for the White House.

White House surrogates have not responded as generously.

Last month, the Times reported that Trump asked Comey to stop looking into Flynn in an investigation that focused in part on the former national security advisor's links to Turkey and Russian Federation.

Comey told Attorney General Sessions he didn't want to be in the room alone with Trump. Since then, Trump and Comey allies have traded competing narratives about their interactions.

Comey announces in a news conference that he recommended no charges be filed against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, but says her handling of classified information was "extremely careless".

Explosion in diplomatic area of Kabul kills, wounds dozens
The blast in the Wazir Akbar Khan area happened near several embassies and not far from the presidential palace. The US embassy and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation mission are about half a mile from the site.

Some Twitter users even compared Tuesday's dinner to the dinner Trump and Comey had.

The Senate Intelligence Committee is now the most public of the inquiries into the alleged Moscow meddling, with the House Intelligence Committee, FBI and Special Counsel Robert Mueller also looking into it.

Asked about Comey's testimony, Trump on Tuesday was tight-lipped: "I wish him luck", he told reporters before a meeting with lawmakers.

Officials say Trump's advisers have since revived their proposal to appoint Feinberg to a senior position, possibly to review the roles of the DNI and other intelligence agencies.

Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats told associates in March that President Donald Trump asked him to get FBI Director Jim Comey to lay off his probe of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, The Washington Post reported.

The White House had suggested Trump could invoke executive privilege to protect the confidentiality of presidential discussions, but some aides were wary that may appear like a cover-up.

'Something fishy' is going on with Trump's twitter account, researchers say
As a result, some are calling for the president's Twitter account to be cancelled, and Trump be sent to Twitter jail, so to speak. Either allies or enemies could be looking to swell followers of his Twitter account, and retweet anything he posts.
