Twitter users, blocked by Trump, cry censorship

Donald Trump

Lawyers at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University wrote a letter to the White House demanding Trump unblock two users from his Twitter account or face legal action.

The other was Joseph M. Papp (@joepabike), who replied to a Trump weekly video address June 3 by writing "Greetings from Pittsburgh, Sir" and "Why didn't you attend your #PittsburghNotParis rally in DC, Sir?"

"I've said many times both publicly and to the president directly - and I am not in a small group of people who have said this to him - that I think that Twitter is a great tool when used in the right way", he reportedly said.

The letter said that Trump's blocking of users on Twitter suppressed their free-expression rights in several ways. There are rumors that White House officials have recommended he tone them down since some tweets may have legal ramifications.

Therefore, offering better sound quality might not necessarily be the tipping factor that will put HomePod sales into overdrive. Cook unveiled a series of software updates for all Apple's products and three new products.

The Knight First Amendment Institute says it is different, or at least that it should be. Now, government officials are vociferous on Twitter-Donald Trump especially-and free speech experts say that creates constitutional obligations in the U.S., including keeping followers who aren't fans. "This feature helps users in restricting specific accounts from contacting them, seeing their Tweets, and following them". Other members of the administration, though, had previously indicated the president's Twitter posts were not official White House remarks.

President Donald Trump has illegally blocked a handful of Twitter users for criticizing or mocking him on the social network, and they want their access restored, lawyers for the users say. Also, the development highlights that society has reached the point when public officials, from the presidency on down, are harnessing social media as a means of political discourse.

Although Democrats were most likely to express concerns about the president's tweeting and its potential impacts, some Republicans also appeared to have reservations about Trump's Twitter use.

The Knight First Amendment Institute has issued a letter to Trump calling on him to unblock American citizens that he has restricted from viewing and responding to his tweets, KTLA reports.

The video in which the man pledges allegiance to ISIS was found by police who searched the student apartment he was renting. But he said he "fell off his chair", when he saw the news of his implication in an attack.

The Knight Institute says the private-public line was totally blurred with the president unabashedly mixed the two when he tweeted "official statements" from his private account. Fifty-one percent said he uses Twitter too much, up from just 37 percent in December.

This distinction could be important in the future, as courts are arguing how Trump's tweets should affect their rulings on his travel ban.

Another 48 percent say his tweets hurt GOP lawmakers up for reelection next year.

The most constitutionally significant effect would be that blocked users apparently cant post to Twitter comment threads, at least without some complicated workarounds.

Messengers from the texting application will now also sync to iCloud as well as any Apple product, to which a user is signed in. The iPad 4 and hundreds of apps will also be made obsolete under the new software as it will remove support for 32-bit apps .

The president's tweets are statements of policy.
