Authorities say escaped Georgia inmates caught in Tennessee

A Georgia sheriff says authorities still don't know the whereabouts of two escaped Georgia inmates accused of killing two prison guards. Blood flowed off the bus and onto the pavement.

Sills was emotional as he described the initial scene to reporters.

"This black stripe, it's been on this badge more in the previous year than ever before", Sills said, fighting back tears. Many law enforcement officers from local, state and federal agencies are hunting for them.

Donnie Rowe, 43, and Ricky DuBose, 24, are alleged to have shot and killed two correctional officers in Georgia while they were being transferred to another facility by transport bus. He added, "We are looking for them anywhere they might be on planet Earth".

Authorities also announced the reward for the apprehension for the duo has increased to $130,000. But nothing solid so far, officials said.

On Thursday, Special Agent David LeValley, head of the FBI's Atlanta office, announced the start of a billboard campaign urging the public to help find the fugitives, and acknowledged that the hunt is no longer limited to Georgia, but now national.

Things moved quickly in the minutes and hours after the shootings and escapes around daybreak on Tuesday.

"Yes, they have been interviewed", Sills said.

Malphrus said a maintenance crew on the interstate saw the same two men, but were unable to confirm if they were the inmates.

Sills went one better than that.

Sills says the green Honda still hasn't been recovered and it's unknown whether the two men are still traveling together. A Georgia sheriff said officers were "desperate".

"They are unsafe beyond description".

"This is the greatest effort, I've ever seen", Sills said.

"The public is in grave danger", the sheriff said.

Dubose and Rowe have been captured. Both were convicted of armed robbery and other violent crimes. He is a member of the Aryan prison gang known as the Ghostface Gangsters.

According to the sheriff's office, two men matching the descriptions of two men wanted in the death of two corrections officers' were spotted in Switzerland, the Exit 18 area. "We have 32 inmates getting off the bus". But numerous inmates had come from different prisons and knew little of Rowe and Dubose, who had been cellmates at least twice during their incarceration at Baldwin State Prison.

Since Tuesday, law enforcement officials said they tracked Dubose and Rowe to a rural home, which they broke into while the owners were away. After killing the guards and abandoning the prison bus, Rowe and Dubose carjacked a passerby's vehicle at gunpoint and ransacked a nearby house for food and clothes.
